Join Simon at Patrick Broome Studio – Munich for this 4 day Teacher’s immersion into the art of Vinyasa Yoga. The focus of the immersion is rediscovering Vinyasa Yoga as an energetic and healing practice. As a teacher, the refinement of self-practice from the physical to the subtle, is the beginning of an exploration that culminates in strengthening their vision of Yoga as a healing and liberating practice. This precious knowledge is passed from teacher to student. Simon has devoted the past 22 years to synthesize the great lessons and wisdom of his primary teachers; Shiva Rea, Maty Ezraty, Richard Freeman, Dharma Mittra and Joan White.
The primary focus of this immersion is to gain a better understanding of the universal physical and energetic principles from traditions such as the Ashtanga, Iyengar, and Vinyasa systems. We will examine how the teachings of each system and master teachers from those lineages, can greatly enhance our knowledge of the physical and energy body during yoga practice. Ultimately, it is our aim to make the information come to life as we adapt our teaching towards the special needs of each student. Each day will begin with an in-depth asana practice, working to understand principles and patterns of physical and energetic alignment inside the practice. Through this understanding, we have a knowledgeable platform to read the body in an energetic and wholistic way, create effective + transformational hands on assists and teach asanas in a therapeutic and healing way. We will discuss how proper application of Vinyasa Krama sequencing complements therapeutic practice. The immersion is designed for teachers from all traditions of yoga and experienced practitioners.

Liquid Flow Yoga – Freestyle Vinyasa:
A Vinyasa Flow practice that holds the structure and discipline of Ashtanga and Iyengar Yoga, infused with an immense creativity and dance-like flow.. a fresh and inspired blend of classical and modern styles. Practice dynamic asana as a movement mediation in an open system that guides the student to experience the practice as an unscripted adventure. Asanas are practiced with a keen eye to detailed physical / energetic alignment and awareness of complimentary and opposing actions. There is an artful focus on creative transitions that add elegance and uniqueness to the flow of the practice. Finally, an observation upon the subtleties of the breath and how feeling of how it effects the body and mind. Principles of Vinyasa Krama are utilized to create an evolutionary practice that aims to challenge, invigorate and harmonize body, mind and soul.

Progression from Simple to Advanced Back Bends:
Backbends are a beautiful balance of grounding and rooting while learning to become fluid and receptive. Learn alignment principles that are inherent in simple backbends such as cobra, locust and upward dog; while integrating complementary hip + shoulder openers and energetic keys that will help you advance toward more complex backbends such as Raja-Kapotasana (King Pigeon), Naturajasana (Cosmic Dancer), Vrichikasana (Scorpion) and drop-backs. A full Vinyasa practice of creative sun salutations, standing poses, complimentary core work, twists and inversions. Sometimes students are fearful of backbends because of back-pain. Learn the actions and proper preparation that can make backbends pain-free and truly blissful!

Inversions and Arm Balances are pure expression of creative energy flowing through the body. Experience fearless flying, pranic body of power, agility and lightness. Float effortlessly by integrating physical + energetic alignment, dynamic movement + bandha, creative core work and intelligent vinyasa krama sequencing. Learn a pathway of creative flows within a powerful Vinyasa workshop so that you can seamlessly integrate handstands, arm-balances, inversions and flying transitions, to energize your practice. Progressively build toward practicing inversions and arm-balances, first at the wall and with partner assists, then move toward practicing in the center of the room with creative energy and empowered vitality.
